Mecca:83 - Life Sketches v1 & 2

Out of money making Manchester comes Mecca:83 with a new release, Life Sketches v1 & 2.

The intro could not be more prophetic: a serene sequence of synth, snares and soul ease you in to what I believe is the predominant theme on on this record. Tranquil tracks, quasi meditative music which will serve as soundtrack to any moments of relaxation whilst still preserving the basic elements that boom bap.
In this Life Sketches v1 & 2 LP, Mecca:83 has sought inspiration from Kutmah, Jay Dee, Pete Rock and Sun Ra. With that, he releases his 1st LP on Freeform Records, his own label and enterprise.
Life Sketches v1 & 2 is available today on bandcamp. Enjoy.

  1. meh. I hear the dilla and pete influences but this sounds like very generic Tyler Perry background music overall. nothing very exciting on these cuts.
