A great recap video by LeftO of Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards. Le sigh. I'll need to make my way out there soon. Until then, I'll live vicariously through LeftO and his lens.

I.N.T.: Loops N Shit [DWNLD]
From a dutch producer i've not heard enough of.... I have a few releases from I.N.T. in the library, and a few of you may have heard me play some joints, but I do believe that I need to get my hands on more. Holland has been the land of some great producers in this space and I.N.T. has been one of them.
He's just released a mix of break, beats, edits and loops assembled from his very own collection of wax spanning all continents and styles. Always nice to hear new and fresh breaks.
You can scoop that here or stream it below, and make sure you keep a closer eye on dood. As I should as well.
[download]
Enjoy.

Outlook Festival 2012: Lineup announced

Amazing. I marvel at the lineups that festival programmers are able to put together in EU. Nothing of the sort on this side of the pond. Alas, I still have a dream. Nonetheless, the good ppl at the Outlook Festival have released the early confirmations for this years festival's in Croatia.
You can read the full list here. Time to make plans.

Darkhouse Fam: In & Out EP [DWNLD]
DFDFDFDF.
Right from Cardiff come a dynamic duo that I have run my mouth about in the past out here, and much of that great music is now going to make it out on a new EP. Coming from the good ppl over at Earnest Endeavours is the In & Out EP by the Darkhouse Fam.
After staying relatively quiet for the last few and some releases left and right including the iconic Producers Series from Fat City Recordings, Darkhouse Fam is preparing to drop their most significant release. Featuring the likes of Om'Mas Keith of world famous Sa-Ra, and Vanity Jay, this 7 track release will get that back in the mix with that boom bap that got them the deserved buzz previously.
Tracklist
1. Take On The World feat. Om’Mas Keith
2. Red Leather
3. Sticky Trees (Interlude) feat. Vanity Jay
4. Tartan Paint
5. Snaggletooth
6. Like No Other feat. B. Bravo
7. In & Out (Reprise)
Out Feb 27th, 2012, the In & Out EP will be available in all reputable shops, and certainly online as well.
Here's a mix they did for Dazed Magazine. Hold it down.
Enjoy.

Madlib Medicine Show w/ Jrocc [VIDEO]
A little something from yesterday's sold out show in Toronto w/ Madlib and J-Rocc. The lineup as I was told was epic, the crowd was deep, and the fans came out from all directions. Good times. More clips to come.

Akai Pro Presents MPC FLY [VIDEO]
In a 2 week blitz that saw Akai Pro introduce their new flagship units meant to take them into the new era of production, they had one flip for the fans. Completing the trilogy will be the MPC FLY.

After some early endorsement and investment of the iOS platform with the Synth Station, Akai Pro has now made an additional statement and BOLD move by not only offering a new MPC themed iPad app, but also providing a proprietary controller for the iPad to facilitate the process. Wow. Again, a software dev investment is one thing, but to actually stock a physical item that will solely support the iPad?? Daring. For those who have spoken to me know that I've been a big fan of the tablets/iPad and the opportunity to whip something up + this is where computing power is going.
There are tons of apps out there that have mimicked the MPC, but Luke's father has now returned.
Offered will be an app that will be able to run on both the iPad and iPad2. But the controller has been designed for the iPad2, on paper. Deets are as follows:
MPC FLY HARDWARE
● The first MPC designed specifically for iPad 2
● Fitted compartment for iPad 2 provides fully integrated portable MPC solution
● 16 backlit genuine MPC pads with MPC Note Repeat & MPC Swing
● Works seamlessly with the MPC App: sequence & sample editing, effects, EQ and more
● Create beats on the go and transfer to a Mac or PC for further mastering
● Double-hinged case sits upright, lies flat or closes for transport
● Compatible with virtually any Core MIDI app
● Built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery
● Charges iPad when plugged into wall power
MPC FLY iPad APP
● Sequence four tracks simultaneously: four-track mixer built in
● Built in sound library of samples and drum kits
● Record and overdub sequences and create and edit your own Programs
● 16-Levels mode: play one sample at 16 levels of attack, velocity, length, and tuning
● Note variation slider allows you to manipulate attack, velocity, length, and tuning as you play
● Built-in effects: delay, bit crusher, master compressor/limiter
● Time correct: 1/8 note – 1/32T with variable Swing setting
● Note Repeat: 1/8 note – 1/32T timing
● Sample using internal mic or line-in and trim and categorize samples
● Sample from your iPod library with turntable interface
● Share on SoundCloud, Facebook or twitter
● Supports WIST, Wireless Sync Start protocol from Korg
● Supports AudioPaste
For all those going to NAMM, enjoy as Akai Pro plans to have the full lineup on hand to mess with.
For the rest of us, more info can be found at the MPC FLY page.
Cheers.

Om Unit, Jay 5ive & Kromestar: Get Darker [VIDEO]
3h30mins of a live show at the brand new Get Darker studios . Om Unit, Jay 5ive and Kromestar are mixing live with the good vibes of Mr G Double toasting the mic. This almost Anti Social show live. Nice. As usual, big riddims, exclusives... shouts to Kevin McPhee for pointing that one out.
Hope you have some time to kill. But this is a massive show. Enjoy.
Enjoy.
